ELEVATOR SAFETY GEAR
A safety clamp is a safety device that, under the operation of a speed limiter, urgently stops the elevator car and clamps it onto the guide rail when the elevator speed exceeds the speed set by the speed limiter or when the steel wire rope breaks or relaxes. It provides effective protection for the safe operation of elevators. The safety clamp is installed on the car frame or counterweight frame. The safety gear can be divided into two types based on the different stopping and deceleration speeds (stopping distances): instantaneous and progressive
