Rapid Diagnosis Of Monarch 02/03 Overcurrent Faults: Traction Machine Or Inverter?
When encountering a Monarch mainboard error 02/03 (overcurrent fault), you can quickly identify whether the issue comes from the traction machine or the inverter using this simple method:
1. Disconnect and Isolate: First, disconnect the U, V, and W phase lines at the frequency converter output.
2. Parameter Settings: Enter the frequency converter parameter menu and set
F0-01 to 0 and F0-00 to 2, putting the system into offline open-loop mode.
3. Run Test: In open-loop mode, press the run button (upward direction). The frequency converter will then operate under no-load.
If no fault is reported, the frequency converter is normal, and the problem is likely with the traction machine or external load.
If the fault persists, the problem is most likely with the frequency converter or the mainboard.
4. End Test: After the test is complete, press the stop button to exit and restore the wiring and parameter settings. Change the parameter of F0-00/01 to 1.
This method can initially determine the source of the fault without connecting the motor, helping you pinpoint the problem more quickly.
